The legislation I introduce will support small Missouri businesses, build the Show Me State into our Nation's premiere business destination of choice, and create thousands of new Missouri jobs

How I will create jobs as your State Representative:

Step 1. Rebuild Missouri Department of Economic Development's Obsolete Websites
Step 2. Reduce Missouri Surety Bond Requirements
Step 3. Simplify Missouri Corporations Process
Step 4. Abolish the Missouri Franchise Tax
Step 5. Permanent Tax Cuts for Businesses that Create New Missouri Jobs
Step 6. Targeted Search Engine Marketing of Missouri's Business Friendly Message to Businesses Everywhere

Step 1. Rebuild Missouri Department of Economic Development's Obsolete Websites

The obsolete websites used by Missouri to develop new business are not search engine compliant, were designed with outdated technology, and are completely invisible to Google, Yahoo, & Bing. I want to change that. It is imperative that Missouri's main economic development websites are immediately brought up to today's search engine requirements. I propose we allow private companies to take over the operation and maintenance of Missouri's economic development websites at absolutely no cost to the State. This proven business model will save the State substantial labor costs, increase sales tax revenue, bring our websites up to current technology, and will drive these websites to the top of the North American search engines. Click here to learn more about my plan to modernize Missouri's business websites.

As your State Representative, I will introduce legislation that will assure Missouri's main economic development websites are brought up to today's search engine guidelines. This we will make it easier for Missouri businesses to learn about expansion and will lure out of state businesses to Missouri. This will create new Missouri jobs.

Step 2. Reduce Missouri Surety Bond Requirements

I own a company that trains small Missouri business owners. In the last three years I have trained over one thousand seven hundred small business owners throughout Missouri. The business owners in my training seminars all agree the most cost prohibitive process of opening a new business in Missouri can be our State's restrictive surety bond requirement. Surety bonds produce zero revenue for the state while adding several thousands of dollars to business startup costs and yearly operating expenses. I want to change that.

The first step in driving Missouri' economic growth is to lower business startup and operating costs. If I am given the honor to serve as your Missouri State Representative I will introduce sensible legislation that will lower Missouri's cost prohibitive business bonding requirement.  Click here to learn how I will reduce Missouri's bonding requirements. This legislation will allow thousands of entrepreneurs that were unable to afford a surety bond the opportunity to open a new Missouri businesses for the first time. This will create Missouri jobs.

Step 3. Simplify Missouri's Corporations Process

Any business owner that decides to start, expand, or relocate a business to Missouri must navigate Missouri's extremely complex corporation laws. When starting or upgrading a Missouri corporation you will be required to interpret an exceedingly complicated document known as the "Secretary of State's Corporation Schedule of Fees & Charges" which contains 68 different types of confusing corporations classifications. Correct interpretation of the Missouri Secretary of State's Corporation Schedule of Fees & Charges requires costly legal advice before launching, expanding, or relocating any Missouri business. I want to change that.

If am allowed to serve as your Missouri State Representative I will introduce legislation during the legislative pre-filing period in December of 2010 that will streamline and simplify the process of creating or upgrading a Missouri corporation. Click here to learn more about how I will change Missouri corporations classifications. Simplifying Missouri corporations classifications will make it much easier and less expensive to start, expand, or relocate a business to Missouri. This will create Missouri jobs.

Step 4. Abolish the Missouri Franchise Tax

The next step in creating Missouri jobs will be the elimination of unnecessary taxes. I have no problem paying my fair share of taxes but I am ardently opposed to any type of unnecessary business tax such as the Missouri Franchise Tax. The Missouri Franchise Tax is not a tax charged to franchise owners, it is a tax levied upon every company that holds a certain amount of assets in Missouri. The Franchise Tax severely punishes any Missouri business that wants to expand and causes Missouri to appear extremely unattractive to out of state business owners searching for the best state for business. I want to change that.

As your Missouri State Representative I will introduce legislation that will eliminate the punitive Missouri Franchise Tax. Click here to learn more about how I will eradicate the Missouri Franchise Tax. Elimination of the Missouri Franchise Tax will stop the penalizing businesses that want to grow and will entice more out of state companies to relocate to business friendly Missouri. It will also create Missouri jobs.

Step 5. Reform Corporations Income Tax Immediately, then Phase it Out in Five Years

When our Nation's economy turns around and Missouri is it's business capitol I will lead the cause to permanently eliminate the Missouri Corporate Income Tax. The elimination of the Missouri Corporate Income Tax at this time, however, would be a financial disaster for our State. Missouri is facing enormous budget deficits and the removal of the Corporate Income Tax now could cause Missouri to face bankruptcy in a matter of months. We can, however, reform the Corporation Income Tax to give immediate tax cuts to every company that creates a new Missouri job and phase this it out completely in five years when specific sales tax revenue goals have been met. The legislation I introduce to lower business taxes will actually increase tax revenues for the State. Click here to learn more about my plan to reduce the Corporate Income Tax immediately, then phase it out in five years.

As your Missouri State Representative I will introduce realistic legislation that will give permanent tax cuts for any business that creates new Missouri employment opportunities and will lead to the elimination of the Corporate Income Tax in five years when certain economic conditions have been met. This will lead to unprecedented growth and development of Missouri businesses. It will also create new Missouri jobs.

Step 6. Targeted Search Engine Marketing of Missouri's Business Friendly Message to Businesses Everywhere

Businesses are fleeing high tax states by the thousands. Companies in states like California, New York, and Illinois are leaving in droves to find states with a less restrictive, business friendly environment. Missouri is making no effort at all to inform these companies about the advantages of relocating a business to Missouri. I want to change that. The money saved by privatizing Missouri's economic development websites can be easily diverted into an aggressive, targeted internet marketing campaign that will deliver Missouri's business message directly to these companies. Click here to learn more about my proposed Missouri search engine advertising campaign.

As your Missouri State Representative the legislation I introduce to privatize to the Missouri Department of Economic Development website maintenance will include provisions specifically to channel the savings into an aggressive search engine advertising campaign. Search engine advertisements promoting Missouri's business environment will lead new businesses to Missouri.

To build Missouri into the best state for business we must eliminate unnecessary business startup costs, reform our business taxes, build search engine compliant business websites, and create a targeted internet marketing campaign to send our business message to companies all over the world. This will create Missouri jobs.

I can see the incredible opportunity that lies ahead for Missouri and I hope that you can too. Together we can do this. We can build Missouri into our Nation's best state for business and create thousands of new Missouri jobs. But in order to accomplish these legislative goals I need your financial support.
